I'm leaning towards UNRAID, but want to cover everything. I use OPNSense as my router on it's own equipement.

Right now my 2016 Essentials is my AD, with all other computers being Windows 10. So, file storage/sharing, PC backup, media storage, media server. So, for whatever OS I go with I should be fine. OS is installed on a 256GB M.2 on the MB. Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019 and now Server 2022 are all LTSC releases. My current setup is a ASUS C246Pro with an Intel E-2176G, 64GB ECC RAM, and 4x8TB Seagate NAS HDD. Essentially, LTSC releases are what we have always thought of as our traditional Windows Server operating system releases. I've used Amahi, WHS2011, WHS v2, and 2016 Essentials over the years. Has anyone here installed 2022 Essentials? It is the same as 2022 Standard or restricted like 2019 Essentials? What I am specifically wondering about in 2022 Essentials is client backup, is it there? I know 2022 Essentials is only sold through certain channels. I've read blogs, MS documents, threads etc, but nothing seems to be definitive as they all contradict each other. Other MS documentation says 2022 Essentials is exactly the same as 2022 Standard except with the difference licensing structure (25 people, 50 devices, no CALs) and the VM restrictions. Some MS documentation refers to it like 2019 Essentials and it is missing client backup and Essentials experience, etc. I am reading conflicting reports on 2022 Essentials. I am looking at UNRAID, TrueNas, Amahi, and Windows Server 2022 Essentials. I am finally upgrading from my Windows Server 2016 Essentials.
